Committees

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee meets every two months to review specific HCLABC business.  The Executive Committee is made up of these HCLABC Board Members:

  • Chair - Marc Pelletier
  • Vice Chair - Khanum Keshavjee
  • Treasurer – Annie Smith
  • Secretary – Sherry Hamilton


Audit Committee
The Audit Committee meets on an as needed basis to review the fiscal yearend audit with the audit organization.  Its members are made of the HCLABC Executive Committee and selected HCLABC members.

 

Nominations Committee
The Nominations Committee meets prior to the Annual General Meeting to review the board vacancies, the list of candidates applying for vacant board positions, and to make recommendations to the membership at the Annual General Meeting.  The Nominations Committee works in accordance with the current Constitution and Bylaws.  Officers to the Nominations Committee are appointed by the HCLABC board.  The Past Chair heads this committee.

 

Conference Committee
The Conference Committee is responsible for the development of the title, theme and program for the Annual Leadership Conference.  The Conference Chairs work in conjunction with HCLABC’s conference planner to organize the next conference.  The Chairs use their resources and may create a conference advisory committee to assist with feedback on theme, speakers and events associated with the annual conference.

 

Awards Committee
The Awards Committee reviews the nomination forms as received by the HCLABC office.  The Chair of the Awards Committee is selected by the HCLABC board.  The Chair then selects Committee members.  This committee meets several times after June 30 of every 2nd calendar year to review the nomination forms and to select award recipients.  The awards are presented biannually at the Annual Leadership Conference in the fall of the appropriate calendar year. Ad Hoc Committees
From time to time, notices go out through the HCLABC E-Newsletter, via email to the membership or through this web site requesting members to volunteer their time and talents to a new committee.
